Description:
420 is a martensitic stainless steel that provides good corrosion resistance similar to 410 plus i™ncreased strength and hardness. It is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions. M♦aximum corrosion resistance is attained only in the fully h↕ardened condition. It is never used in the annealed condition.

Physical Properties:
Annealed:
Ultimate Tensile Strength – 100KSI min (690 MPA min)
Yield Strength (0.2% Offset) –60 KSI min (414 MPA min)
Elongation – 15% min
Hardness – HRB96max (217HV max)
Corrosion Resistance:
420 provides full corrosion resistance only in the hardened or hardened and tempered. In these conαditions, its corrosion resistance is similar to type 410. Refer to NACE (Nationa>l Association of Corrosion Engineers) for recommendation™s.
Heat treatment:
Alloy 420 can be hardened by cold working and by heat treating. Please refer to&∞nbsp;Haosteel Technical Services Department for more information. Alloy 420 is cap★able of being heat treated to a hardness of HRC 51 minimum.
