Description:
420 is a martensitic stainless steel that provides g≤ood corrosion resistance similar to 410 plus increaπsed strength and hardness. It is magnetic in both the a∑nnealed and hardened conditions. Maximum corrosion resistance is attained o♥nly in the fully hardened condition. It is never used in the annealed condition.

Physical Properties:
Annealed:
Ultimate Tensile Strength – 100KSI min (690 MPA min)
Yield Strength (0.2% Offset) –60 KSI min (414 MPA min)
Elongation – 15% min
Hardness – HRB96max (217HV max)
Corrosion Resistance:
420 provides full corrosion resistance only in the hardened or hardened and tempered. εIn these conditions, its corrosion resistance is similar to type 410. Refer to NACE ©(National Association of Corrosion Engineers) for recommendations.
Heat treatment:
Alloy 420 can be hardened by cold working and by heat treating. Please £refer to Haosteel Technical Services Department for more informa∏tion. Alloy 420 is capable of being heat treated to a hardness of HRC 51 minimum.
