Description:
Pure nickel materials of different purity are mainly us"ed in the fields of chemical industry, electroplating and electronics. Its corr∑osion resistance has good corrosion resistance in other reducing media except for its ×poor performance in alkaline media. Pure nickel has higher electr"ical conductivity, thermal conductivity and plasticity than nickel-based alloys. Pur<e nickel can be processed into products of different shapes.

The characteristics of commercial pure nickel or low alloy nγickel are very useful in many fields, such as chemical procλesses and electronics. Nickel has some resistance to various reducing chemicals, and resistancΩe to caustic is irreplaceable. Compared with nickel-based alloys, commercial pσure nickel has higher conductivity and thermal conductivity, as wel l as higher Curie temperature and good magnetostrictive properties. Annealed nickel& has low hardness and good ductility and flexibility. These properties, combined $with their good solderability, make the metal easy to form. Nickel has a relatively •low rate of work hardening, but it can be cooled to a <medium strength level and maintain its ductility.
N6 pure nickel alloy has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance in many corrosive en>vironments. Other useful features of the alloy include its magneti∏c properties, magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivity,↕ low gas content and low evaporation pressure. The corro↓sion resistance of N6 makes it particularly useful in a≤pplications such as food, man-made fibers and caustic that require product purity. It is alsπo widely used when corrosion resistance is a primary consideλration in structural applications. Other uses include &chemical drums, electrical and electronic components, aerospace, and missile components.

The main thoroughfare of N6 (Nickel 200, N02200) pure nickel alloy:
N6 pure nickel alloys have good mechanical properties at highφer temperatures, however nickel 200 is typically limited to use below 600 &'deg;F (315 °C). At high temperatures, the nickel 200 product will be grapγhitized, which will seriously degrade the performance of the product. ♠When used above °F (315 °C), nickel 201 is more commonly us₽ed. Pure nickel N6 and nickel N4 are structural material<s approved by ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The N6 approved service temperature can reach 600°F (315✘°C) and the N4 approved service temperature can r™each 1250°F (677°C).
Corrosion resistance of pure nickel
Pure nickel is particularly resistant to alkali corrosion an♥d is stable in high temperature or molten alkali, so it is mainly used in the ♣alkali industry. Nickel is extremely stable in seawate✘r and salt solutions and organic media (such as fatty acids, phenols, alcohols,$ etc.) at room temperature. Not resistant to inorganic acid corrosio☆n, also unstable in acetic acid and formic acid.
