Description:
Type 316(UNS 31600) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybde∏num. This addition increases corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting♠ chloride ion
solutions and provide increased strength at elevated temperatures. Properties are similar to those of type 304 except t↓hat 316 is somewhat stronger at elevated temperatures. Corrosion resistance is improved, particula•rly against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric §acids, acid sulfates and alkaline chlorides.
