Nickel-based alloys are alloys that have a combination of high streng♥th and certain resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatδures of 650 to 1000 °C. Alloy 31 (N08031) nickel base alloy processing properties:
1. Hot processing: Alloy 31 (N08031) alloy has a hot working temperature rangπe of 1200 °C to 1050 °C, and the cooling method is water cooling or rapid a£ir cooling.
2, cold processing:
(1) Alloy 31 (N08031) alloy has a higher work hardening rate than austenitic staiσnless steel, so it is necessary to select processing equipment. The workpieceσ should be in a solution treated state and should have an interme diate anneal during the cold rolling process.
(2) If the cold rolling deformation is greater than 15%, the workpiece needs to be solution treated.
3. Heat treatment:
(1) The alloy 31 (N08031) alloy has a solution treatment temperature ranging f♠rom 1130 ° C to 1180 ° C.
(2) In all heat treatment processes, the workpiece should be dirαectly added to the heated heat treatment furnace, and the workpiece must be kept clean.
(3) In order to ensure the best corrosion resistance, the cooling method is water-∞cooled. The alloy must be water quenched at a final pro±cessing temperature of not less than 1100 ° C. It is® recommended that the cooling rate from the final processing temperature to 500 ★° C should be greater than 150. °C/min. For materials with a thickness of less ¥than 1.5 mm, it can also be quickly air cooled.
(4) In any heat treatment process, attention should be paid to the matters mentioned above to keep the workpiece clean.
4, descaling:
(1) The adhesion of the surface oxide of Alloy 31 (N08031) alloy∏ to the weld slag around the weld is stronger than that of stainless steel. It is recom mended to use fine-grained abrasive belt or fine-grained grinding wheel for grinding. (2) The oxide₽ film must be broken by careful sanding or salt bath pretre£atment before appropriate time and temperature pickling with HNO3/HF↔ mixed acid.
(3) Machining: Alloy 31 (N08031) alloy should be machined after heσat treatment. Due to the work hardening of the material, ∑it is better to use a lower cutting speed and heavy feed than the processing of low alloy standard austenitic stainless steel. In order t✔o drive into the surface of the cold hardened surfaπce.
5. Welding: When welding nickel-based alloys and high-alloy special stainless steαels, the following procedures should be followed:
(1) Workplace The work site should be separated separately or at a sufficient distance from the∑ processing area of carbon steel. Keep it as clean as possible, with partitions and avoid ven₽tilation between the two areas.
(2) Work clothes and accessories Wear clean fine l₩eather gloves and clean overalls.
(3) Tools and equipment There should be special tools for nicke£l-based alloys and nickel-chromium steel. Wire brushes should be made of stainless stee>l. Machine equipment such as shears, punching machines, rolling mills, etc. should be≤ covered with felt, cardboard or plastic paper. In order to prevent the iron metal from falling on the surface of the machine and causing the processed materiδal to stick, causing corrosion.
