Hastelloy C-22 Material Description:
C-22 alloys have outstanding resistance to pitting, seam corrosion and stress co♦rrosion cracking. Because of its higher chromium content, C -22 is more resistant to corrosion than oxidizing acids and acid-rich residues such as dissolved ox₽ygen, iron ions and liquid chlorine. The alloy is only used in a smaller range than the C-2000. Us☆ed in most corrosive environments and most complex pharmaceutical reactors for ≥flue gas desulfurization systems.
Hastelloy C-22 corrosion resistance:
The alloy is suitable for use in a variety of chemical process indφustries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The h₩igher molybdenum and chromium content make the alloy res istant to chloride ions, and the tungsten element further enhances its corrosion reλsistance. Hastelloy C-22 is one of only a few materials ∑that are resistant to the corrosion of moist chlorine¥, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. Corrosion resistance and main use environment:
The C-22 alloy has the characteristics of corrosio♠n resistance to both oxidizing acid and reducing acid by virtue of the contents of Cr, Mo, W and the control of the Fe content, and also has corrosion resistance when containing a mixed acid. The alloy is particularly suitable for pitting and crevice corrosion in acid h✘alide environments. C-22 nickel-chromium-molybdenum a≠lloy, like C-276, contains tungsten and very low levels of carbon and silicon.÷ It also has the same characteristics: 1.
